Our Governing Body
Otley and Witnesham Primary Schools are federated under a shared head teacher and a single governing body.
The Governing Body oversees the strategic direction of both schools, and is made up of people from a variety of backgrounds who are elected or co-opted onto the governing body, and are representative of parents, staff and the local community. The three core functions of a governing body are:
- Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction.
- Holding the Headteacher to account for the educational performance of the organisation and its pupils, and the performance management of staff.
- Overseeing the financial performance of the organisation and making sure its money is well spent.
'The Role of Our Governing Body' document, which can be found below, provides more detail.
